Parlay bets are like that $200 bottle of bourbon in your liquor cabinet. You really want to indulge, but you can’t keep going back for soon it will be all gone. Parlays are great every once in a while, but these absolutely crazy NFL parlays might make you want to indulge just a bit more often.
Prop City
So, it’s Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season. The Miami Dolphins are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. You crank up the props market and in true public fashion, you’re riding a number of Overs.
You like both teams’ running backs to go Over their totals. Raheem Mostert is pegged at 69.5 and Pittsburgh’s Najee Harris is listed at 49.5. You also like the opposing tight ends, Pat Friermutch (39.5) and Mike Gesicki (24.5) – who both played collegiately at Penn State, by the way – and their receiving numbers. Sprinkle in Steelers WR George Pickens (49.5 receiving yards) and Kenny Pickett to go Over 244.5 passing yards and you’ve got yourself a nice little props parlay paying out at +5000.
Yes, all six props did hit the Over and this bettor, who wagered $750, cashed a winning ticket for $37,500! That’s the beauty of betting NFL parlays!
Just Bet the Full Card
In 2021, one NFL bettor figured, what the heck, I’ll just bet the entire Sunday schedule. He bet the spread on 14 games, backing just two underdogs. This is how you turn $50 into almost half a million dollars.
The 14-leg parlay was given +900000 odds and paid out $450,000 to the winner. That doesn’t happen very often, but you can bet the sportsbook wasn’t exactly elated that this parlay hit.
Same Game Parlay
FanDuel has become synonymous with the “same-game parlay” where you put two or more wagers from the same game and roll them into a single bet. One bettor did just that with the 2020 Packers-Eagles game.
Remember, this is before the current Eagles, and Philly was 3-8-1 at the time. Green Bay still had Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were favored by 7.5. This bettor took the Packers to cover and put together a couple props for good measure: Aaron Jones, Robert Tonyan Jr., and Jalen Reagor to score an Anytime TD, Aaron Rodgers to go Over 283.5 passing yards, Philly TE Dallas Goedert to go Over his receiving yards prop, and then Eagles QB Carson Wentz to go Over 16.5 rushing yards.
At +41498 odds, of course, this seven-leg parlay hits. The bettor staked $100 on it and went home $41,497.64 richer.
How to Start October
This coming weekend is the first NFL Sunday in October. Last year, it was a big one for a certain NFL parlay bettor. With a simple $50 wager, this bettor won a 12-leg parlay but had to sweat it out to win close to $24K
The card contained 11 moneyline bets and one spread wager. Eight of the 12 games on the card were decided by one score or less. The Chiefs, Cardinals, and Cowboys all won by 10 and the Raiders beat the Broncos by nine. At odds of +46315, this bettor won $23,157. Could it happen again this October?
