Week Two NFL Betting Report: Sharps vs. Squares

Sep 11, 2013

The opening week of the 2013 NFL season did not disappoint as some teams looked invincible (Philadelphia, Denver, Kansas City), while others looked completely inept (Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Washington).  The NFL is a contrarian league in that most teams are never as good or bad they appeared the previous week, but the betting public loves to bet their hard-earned money on the perceived “invincible” teams.  Pro Edge Sports has been following the money trail all week and has distinguished between the teams receiving an overwhelming amount of public money from those squads attracting money from respected betting groups and professional sports bettors alike. Below please find Pro Edge’s week two NFL betting report:

Week Two NFL Teams Attracting Sharp Money:

  • Miami Dolphins
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • New York Giants

Week Two NFL Teams Attracting Heavy Public Money:

  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Denver Broncos
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • New Orleans Saints

The experts at Pro Edge Sports really like a couple of home underdogs this week, including the New York Giants as Eli Manning 33-21-1 ATS as an underdog, including 7-3 SU and 8-1-1 ATS in his last ten chances.  More importantly, the Giants dominated the field of play last week, but six turnovers cost the them the game.  A well-respected NFL expert/bettor made a significant move on the Miami Dolphins Monday, and we agree with the move as the Colts are a prime regression candidate in 2013.  They key, however, is getting Miami at +3 or better in this contest.  We also like the fact that Miami head coach Joe Philbin is 15-3 ATS as a road underdog off a win and 6-1-1 ATS as an underdog of nine points or less.
