Week Two College Football Betting Report: Sharps vs. Squares

Sep 4, 2013

As we roll into week two of the college football season, Pro Edge’s contacts have been able to discern where the money is going on Saturday’s card.  They key, however, is being able to distinguish which teams are drawing sharp action (i.e. money from professional sports bettors) versus the teams who are attracting square money (i.e. wagers from the general public).  Below you will find our college football betting report for week two based upon the money trail.

College Football Teams Attracting Sharp Money:

  • Illinois
  • Tennessee
  • San Diego State
  • Air Force
  • Wyoming
  • North Texas
  • Auburn
  • Washington State
  • UNLV

College Football Teams Receiving Heavy Public Money:

  • Oklahoma State
  • Cincinnati
  • Ohio State
  • Duke
  • Kansas State
  • Oklahoma
  • Texas
  • Minnesota
  • Arizona

Based on the current state of the betting market and where the money has gone, Pro Edge Sports really likes Illinois (+8.5), UNLV (+10.5), Washington State (+15) and Memphis (+6.5).  As for Friday night’s game between Central Florida and Florida International, both the sharps and the public like the road favorite.  In fact, one large betting group has already moved a large amount of money on Central Florida at -23 (the line now sits at -24 or higher).
