Week Three College Football Betting Report: Sharps vs. Squares

Sep 11, 2013

Pro Edge Sports has sources located both domestically and internationally to determine where the betting money is going on a weekly basis.  Our unparalleled contacts throughout the sports gambling industry have closely followed the money trail this week and have been able to distinguish between the college football teams attracting sharp action (i.e. money from professional sports bettors) and those teams who are receiving the majority of square money (i.e. money from the general public).  Below please find Pro Edge’s Week Three college football betting report:

Week Three College Football Teams Attracting Sharp Money:

  • Troy
  • New Mexico State
  • South Florida
  • Marshall
  • Middle Tennessee State
  • Oregon
  • Iowa
  • Central Florida

Week Three College Football Teams Drawing Heavy Public Money:

  • Virginia Tech
  • Florida State
  • Georgia Tech
  • Northern Illinois
  • Kansas State
  • Rice
  • Notre Dame
  • Arizona

We should note that both the sharps and the public like Oregon this week as the line opened at -20 (Bookmaker) and now sits at -27.5.  Our sources have also confirmed that a well-respected betting group moved a substantial amount of money on four games earlier this week: Marshall, Troy, Middle Tennessee State and South Florida.  Pro Edge is looking very closely at Central Florida and will likely make a move on the Knights if the point spread hits +6.  As for the “public” teams listed above, we actually like East Carolina (+7.5) at home to defeat the Hokies.  One reason for liking the Pirates is the fact that home underdogs of 7.5 or less points are 11-3 ATS in Game Three situations when coming off consecutive home wins.
