The college football season is over and with the Alabama Crimson Tide sitting atop the mountain, spring football is right around the corner. With several teams moving on from big-time players and ushering in a new generation of college football players, the National Championship could be anyone’s in the 2021-22 NCAA season.

The spring games generally give bettors an idea of who they should place their money on for winning it all. With COVID-19 still having an effect on the college football landscape, we may see some adjusted styles of games.

This won’t change the betting process, however, and the big money could still end up on a familiar name. Going into the spring, we’ll be previewing the biggest contenders and corresponding NCAA football betting odds to win the national championship.

5) Oklahoma Sooners – Odds to win: +600

The Oklahoma Sooners football program is heading into spring tied for the fourth-best NCAA football betting odds to win the 2021-22 National Championship. The team, led by prolific head coach Lincoln Riley, is returning several key players to their high-scoring offense and is getting ten early enrollees, as well as five transfer players to the program.

This Oklahoma program is gunning for its seventh straight Big 12 Conference Championship and will be aiming for the National Championship with star quarterback Spencer Rattler under center.

4) Ohio State Buckeyes – Odds to win: +600

After losing in the National Championship game to Alabama, the Ohio State Buckeyes enter the spring of 2021 with their eyes firmly set on the prize. Returning almost their entire arsenal of offensive weapons including wide receiver Chris Olave and tight end Jeremy Ruckert, the Buckeyes are ready to run it back and finish the job this time.

While the team is losing quarterback Justin Fields to the NFL may hurt, Ryan Day’s offense has been able to keep their success alive and get them to the College Football Playoffs. If the defense can keep up, this might be a sleeper pick to win it all.  At +600 NCAA football betting odds, the Buckeyes are worth a wager.

3) Georgia Bulldogs – Odds to win: +400

The Georgia Bulldogs enter the spring of 2021 as one of the more intriguing contenders for the National Championship. A team that will be featuring a relatively new defensive unit, the Bulldogs will have to make up for quite a bit of talent on that side of the ball. Cornerbacks Tyson Campbell and Eric Stokes are making the jump to the NFL, as well as several key players in their front seven.

However, the Bulldogs offense will be returning most of their key offensive players, including transfer quarterback J.T. Daniels. With a full offseason of building chemistry with his receivers and learning the offensive scheme, Daniels looks primed to lead Georgia back to the National Championship game.  At +400 NCAA football betting odds, the Bulldogs are worth a wager.

2) Clemson Tigers – Odds to win: +400

Even though they are losing one of the most prolific college quarterbacks of all time in Trevor Lawrence, the Clemson Tigers should be in prime position to get back to the National Championship game. This is a team that is returning nearly all of their defensive players and is returning four of their five starting offensive linemen.

When Lawrence was out during the 2020 season due to COVID-19, quarterback D.J. Uiagelelei played extremely well in Lawrence’s absence. With all of their returning players and a bit of continuity, the Tigers should be one of the favorites to win it all next season.

1)  Alabama Crimson Tide – Odds to win: +350

While the Crimson Tide are the reigning national champions, they stand to lose a lot of quality players to the NFL. Quarterback Mac Jones, Heisman winner DeVonta Smith, and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle are among the players that will be departing, as well as several key offensive linemen and key defensive players.

With a brand new coaching staff of former NFL coaches, all led by Nick Saban, this team will go into the spring as the early favorites to keep their champion status. Bettors will likely keep the Tide the favorites, despite them losing the majority of their talent. At +350 NCAA football betting odds, the Tide are worth a wager.
