The Philadelphia 76ers have been unbeaten on the road since the beginning of the year. When they travel to face the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, they will have a slight advantage. Philadelphia was able to remain in Los Angeles after beating the Lakers on Sunday night. That allows the Sixers to go for their fourth road win in four tries this month against Philly head coach Doc Rivers’ former team.

Against the Lakers on Sunday, Joel Embiid’s insurance basket with 45.7 seconds left helped Philadelphia beat LA 113-112 despite playing with a new-look starting lineup. In the waning seconds of the game, Embiid blocked Russell Westbrook of the Lakers from making what would have been the game-winning shot.

Embiid ended up with 35 points and he pulled down 11 rebounds over the course of 36 minutes in his fourth game since missing a few due to soreness in his left foot. His previous game, a victory at Utah on Saturday, was the first of a back-to-back in which he scored 30 points in 36 minutes.

After scoring 31 points against the Jazz the previous day, James Harden added 24 points for Philadelphia on Sunday. Of those 24, 18 came in the fourth quarter of another one-point (118-117) victory for the Sixers.

Tyrese Maxey scored 16 points, including seven in the pivotal fourth quarter, as the Sixers moved a season-high 11 games over.500. Maxey played a rare game off the bench. Maxey confirmed his readiness to play a role off the bench, according to Rivers, who claimed that Maxey suggested the lineup change. It appears the change is working as this was the third game in which Maxey played off the bench.

The Clippers are coming off of their second win in nine games, a much-needed 121-100 triumph over the Houston Rockets on Sunday. Terance Mann scored a game-high 31 points for Los Angeles which played without Paul George (hamstring) for the fifth straight game.

The Clippers are in their third season under Tyronn Lue as their head coach after seven seasons under Rivers. Lue has struggled to put together an efficient lineup for his team during this injury-plagued season. In a shaky comeback from knee surgery, Kawhi Leonard, who has missed 24 games this season, scored 30 points for Los Angeles on Sunday. The Clippers limited the Rockets to 10 points in the fourth quarter after allowing 63 points in the first half.

The Clippers are 2-7 SU and 3-6 ATS in their last nine games. They are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against Philadelphia at home. The Sixers are 4-1 SU in their last five games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven. Philadelphia has beaten the Clippers in eight of the last 11 meetings and the Sixers have covered the spread in 11 of the last 14 against Los Angeles.

Seven of the last eight Sixers games have gone Over the total. The Over is also 7-2 in Philadelphia’s last nine games on the road.
