Game: Golden State Warriors @ Orlando Magic

Time: 7:00 p.m. ET

Odds:  Warriors -7.5, Magic +7.5

Total: 215

Golden State hits the road for a five-game road trip that starts tonight in Orlando. The Warriors will be without leading scorer Stephen Curry indefinitely. Curry has a sprained foot and will miss some time. Without him, the Warriors have lost their last two games and scored 88 against Boston and 108 against San Antonio. Tonight, they will face a Magic team that ranks 21st in the league in scoring defense.

Orlando enters tonight’s game coming off a 90-85 win over Oklahoma City. In the three games prior to Sunday’s win, Orlando gave up 134, 150, and 116 points in three straight losses to Detroit, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. While the Magic have given up some points lately, their offense struggles. Orlando ranks 28th in the league in points scored. The Magic average 104.3 points per game. The combination of poor offense and defense is why the Magic have one of the NBA’s worst records at 19-53.

It’s also why the Warriors are a 7.5-point road favorite without their best player. The Warriors are 40-16 SU as the favorite this season. They are 12-7 SU as a road favorite. In those 56 games as the favorite, Golden State is 27-25-4 ATS. As a road favorite, the Warriors are 8-9-2 ATS.

With Curry out of the lineup, it will be up to Jordan Poole to replace the Warriors star. Poole had 28 points in the Warriors’ loss to San Antonio on Sunday. Poole now has eight straight games of 20 or more points. Klay Thompson added 24 points against the Spurs, but the Warriors are going to have to protect the basketball tonight. On Sunday, they turned the ball over 15 times.

Golden State has faced the Magic once this season. The Warriors won that game on Dec. 6 by 31 points, 126-95. They covered as 16-point home favorites. Golden State has won seven of the last ten against the Magic. Orlando actually beat the Warriors the last time they played them at home. That was last season and the Magic won 124-120.

Despite that win, the Magic have struggled against the Warriors at home. They have only won two of the last seven games there and they are 2-6 ATS in the last eight against the Warriors at the Amway Center. The Magic also haven’t beaten a team from the Pacific Division in their last nine attempts.

Tonight’s total is a surprising 215. The last five Warriors games have averaged 220 points while the last five for Orlando have averaged 229. The Over has hit in six of the Warriors’ last seven road games and the last three games in the series have averaged 227 points.

That said, both teams have been trending Under. The total has gone Under in five of Golden State’s last six games. The Under has cashed in six of the Orlando’s last nine and the Under is 4-2 in the last six games between the Magic and the Warriors.
