Free Sports Picks: Angels Look For Sixth Straight Win Over Toronto

free sports picks, best free sports picks, winning free sports picks

Oskeim Sports previews Wednesday’s MLB game between the Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays.  Oskeim recommends taking the Angels on the money line and run line as one of his free sports picks for June 19.

The Angels have reached .500 for the first time since mid-April following last night’s 10-5 win over Toronto. Los Angeles is 36-16 in its last 52 games versus teams with a .399 or worse record, 10-3 in its last thirteen clashes with American League East foes and 5-0 in the previous five meetings in this series.

Los Angeles southpaw Andrew Heaney came back strong from Tommy John surgery last season, finishing with a 3.68 xFIP across 180.00 innings pitched.

Heaney’s pitch repertoire generated a lot of swing and misses last year (curve: 20% SwStr%, change: 14%, fastball: 8%) and he currently owns a 12.46 K/9 rate in 21.2 innings of work this season.

The 28-year-old now faces an injured Toronto lineup that will be missing first baseman Justin Smoak, who recently sustained a left quadriceps strain. Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez has not played since spraining his left wrist crashing into the wall in Monday’s contest and remains questionable.

Toronto right-hander Aaron Sanchez toes the rubber with a 5.04 ERA, 5.17 FIP and 5.18 xFIP in fifteen starts. Sanchez has suffered seven straight losing decisions (covering nine starts; 0-7, 6.95 ERA) and is 0-2 with a 4.42 ERA in five career appearances against the Angels.

The 26-year-old lacks control and command (5.16 BB/9) and owns a 35.4% hard contact rate. Sanchez is backed by a pedestrian Toronto bullpen that possesses a 4.94 FIP (25th) and a 1.64 HR/9 rate (27th).

From a technical standpoint, Toronto is just 17-44 in its last 61 games versus left-handed starters, 3-10 in its last thirteen contests during game 3 of a series and 3-11 in its previous fourteen games following a loss.

The Angels are 11-4 in umpire Mike Winters’ last fifteen games behind home plate, whereas Toronto is 2-8 in its last ten home games with Winters calling balls and strikes. Finally, Los Angeles applies to very good 191-83, 168-74, 139-61 and 18-4 situations of mine so take the Angels as one of Oskeim Sports’ free sports picks for June 19.

Oskeim Sports’ Free Sports Picks for Wednesday, June 19:

  • Los Angeles Angels (ML) over Toronto Blue Jays
  • Los Angeles Angels (RL) over Toronto Blue Jays
